Over R750k of stock taken from Bedfordview business during robbery

Between R750 000 and  R1 million worth of stock was taken during a business robbery on North Reef Road, Bedfordview, yesterday.

Capt André de Jager, Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson said a security guard at the business was approached by two men.

The men distracted the guard by asking him questions before producing a firearm and pointing it at him.

“The two men then opened the main gate to the business and 15 suspects entered the property in two eight-ton trucks and three panel vans,” said De Jager.

He said it took the men two hours to load the vehicles with sweets.

The security guard and other staff were put in a guard room before the suspects fled the scene.

De Jager said no shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

He said the station has had two similar incidents in the last two weeks.
