Mclaren Circus: Protestors gather in Edenvale while circus patrons line up (VIDEOS)

“Why must I jump to the tune of every post on Facebook that’s against something [the circus]" - David McLaren.

People gathered outside McLaren Circus today to protest in Hurlyvale Park before the circus’ last few shows in Edenvale.

Three protests have been planned for this weekend with pop-up protests every night this week as small groups of people were allowed to gather outside the circus.

WATCH: “We had a great time and never saw any animals in a bad condition”

Protestors gathered from 2pm to 3pm on Saturday with a second protest from 5pm to 7.30pm.  A third will be held on Sunday.

When asked about the moral objections to the use of wild animals in the circus, McLaren said everyone is allowed to express their own opinion.

“Why must I jump to the tune of every post on Facebook that’s against something [the circus]. That is not how businesses works,” said McLaren in response to whether the circus takes moral objections into account when visiting a town.

McLaren maintained that the circus animals were being well treated.

Sunday’s protest will be from 1pm to 3. 30pm.
