Burst pipe leaves parts of Bedfordview with no water AGAIN

Water tankers will be located in Chaucer Park, on the corner of Chaucer Avenue and Spencer Road, in Senderwood and on the corner of River Road and Vernon Road in Morninghill.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) would like to inform Bedfordview residents of an emergency water supply interruption from October 1 after a burst pipe in Morninghill.

Themba Gadebe CoE spokesperson said the interruption is due to a burst water pipe at the corner of Malan Avenue and Clarkson Street in Morninghill.

“Repairs to the supply pipeline from Linksfield Reservoir are being carried out. Water tankers will be located in Chaucer Park, on corner Chaucer Avenue and Spencer Road, Senderwood,” said Gadebe.

He added a water tanker will also be on the corner of River Road and Vernon Road in Morninghill.

Gadebe said affected areas are Morninghill, Senderwood and St. Andrews.

He said CoE wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys said there is still no water in Senderwood and Morninghill after a burst pipe

“About 60 learners at the boarding school at St Andrew’s woke up with no water this morning. I am in the process of attempting to send a water tanker to the school,” said Humphreys.

She said a second burst happened yesterday after the first was repaired.

“The second burst yesterday was meant to be repaired last night and the reservoir charged, but it hasn’t happened,” said Humphreys.

Humphreys said at the moment there is no feedback.
