Crumbed lamb chops, mushroom sauce and baked bean curry meal.

Here’s how to make this authentic, delicious and easy main meal, which serves four people.

For Heritage Month, Cooking with Lovalicious (Lova Pillay), shared one of her favourite dishes cooked by her mother.

Crumbed lamb chops, mushroom sauce, baked bean curry, steamed vegetable and Greek salad.

Here’s how to make this authentic, delicious and easy main meal, which serves four people.

Ingredients:

• 8 Lamb rib chops

• 1 Egg

• Bread crumbs

• Aromat

• Black pepper

• Ginger and garlic.

For mushroom sauce:

Mushroom sauce ingredients. A glass of milk, six tablespoons of margarine,Aromat, 250g fresh cream, a quarter teaspoon of black pepper, one punnet of mushroom and two and a half tablespoons of self-raising flour on Cooking with Lovalicious.

• 1 Punnet mushroom washed and sliced

• 250g Fresh cream

• Milk

• Aromat

• 1/4 Teaspoon black pepper

• 2 and 1/2 Tablespoon self-raising flour

• 6 Tablespoons margarine.

Baked beans curry:

Final dish of Lova’s crumbed lamb chops, mushroom sauce, baked bean curry, steamed vegetable and Greek salad.

• 1 Can baked beans

• 3/4 Onion, chopped

• 1 Tomato, finely chopped

• 1 Chilli

• 2 Teaspoons chilli powder

• 1 Mixed masala

• Curry leaves

• Aromat to taste

• 1/4 Teaspoon sugar

• 1/4 Cup water.

Oil for frying

• Coriander for garnish

• Steamed veg, any veg of your choice

• 1 Large carrot, sliced

• 3 Baby marrow sliced.

Salad:

• Lettuce

• Cucumber

• Red onion

• Carrot

• Baby tomato.

Cooking method:

• Lamb chops:

Marinate the lamb chops with :

• 1/2 teaspoon pepper

• 1/2 teaspoon Aromat

• 1/4 teaspoon ginger and garlic

• Beat the egg and add to lamb chops.

• Then crumb lamb chops.

• Set aside ready to fry.

Mushroom sauce:

• Add margarine to pot and fry sliced mushroom on high.

• Once water has evaporated add Aromat and pepper.

• Add the flour and stir continuously.

• After five minutes add milk and stir continuously.

• As the sauce thickens, keep adding milk until smooth.

• Add half of fresh cream and stir.

• Add more Aromat to taste if necessary.

• Set aside for serving.

Baked beans curry:

• Add oil to pot.

• When hot, add onions and cook for a two minutes.

• Add tomato, chilli and curry leaves optional.

• When tomato is cooked, add chilli powder and mixed masala.

• Stir, then add baked beans, Aromat to taste and sugar.

• Add a quarter cup of water and simmer for five to seven minutes.

• Add carrot to pot, add a little water and Aromat, and boil for five minutes.

• Add baby marrow half through, add Aromat if needed, at the end a block of margarine.

Salad:

Mix lettuce, sliced cucumbers , julienne carrots, tomatoes and onions.

Fry lamb chops for seven minutes each side until golden brown. Plate, garnish and serve.
