Residents and motorists are advised to stay clear of areas affected by violent protests in Johannesburg.
Protesters looted shops and burnt cars and buildings on Jules Street in Malvern and Jeppestown last night.
It is unclear, at this stage, what the reasons for the protests are.

According to Jeppe SAPS spokesperson, Captain Richard Munyayi, 9 people were arrested for looting shops and damaging property.
Police are currently on scene.
