Reddam makes 12 000 sandwiches for Mandela Month

The school planned to make 6 700 sandwiches for charity, but later surpassed that by making 12 000 sandwiches.

Reddam House College Bedfordview, Reddam House BCC, Reddam House Prep School and Community HoursSA made 12 000 sandwiches for charity on Mandela Day.

Reddam House Helderfontein and Reddam House Waterfall was also on board to provide sandwiches and help out on the day.

StarPack donated colourful bags with an image of Nelson Mandela, where the sandwiches were placed in.

The sandwiches were donated to Kids Haven, Meals on Wheels, RAG, Chaylil Foundation, Eden Angels, Hayani Crèche, Lambano and Elandsvallei Red Cross Old Age Home.

Reddam House currently supports Lambano Sanctuary, Elandsvallei Old Age Home, Iphutheng Primary School, along with Cansa, SADAG and the SPCA.

“We believe that if one person’s life is changed, we are all changed,” said Reddam Bedfordview head of social leadership Bregita Basterfield.
