“We are so happy to be able to share our warmth and love with the Thembalami and Max Ordman Deaf Association residents,” said Broll’s Martine.

One of the recipients was a 94-year-old man who was taken to the care centre that morning by the Department of Social Development.

Seated: Barry Waldeck and Hansie Griessel. Back: Thembalami’s Elize Raath with Broll Auctions and Sales’ Martine Saus, Kunal Nagar and Hermione de Jongh.

The blind man was staying alone in a flat in Joburg South and was due to be evicted.

“Our residents are at an age where they are always cold and the donation of the 50 bright, warm blankets will bring them considerable comfort,” said Elize Raath from Thembalami.
