Honouring the legacy of Mandela Day

And the Primary School girls went to the Khanyisa Trust Soup Kitchen throughout the week to serve food.

Holy Rosary School for Girls honoured Mandela Day in many different ways on July 18.

Different grades came up with various activities for the day.

Reabetswe Marikela, Eliane Buta, Zulu teacher Zodwa Magangane and Reabetswe Mbileni celebrated Mandela Day by wearing traditional attire.

Some of the senior learners made sandwiches for the homeless.

All the learners involved were given a few packages and had to find homeless people to donate to.

A few of the Grade 4 Holy Rosary School girls served at Khanyisa on Mandela Day.

The Grade Eights handmade bracelets were donated to the Teddy Bear Clinic.

The primary school girls went to the Khanyisa Trust Soup Kitchen throughout the week to serve food.

Holy Rosary Grade 8 learners made bracelets for The Teddy Bear Clinic in honour of Nelson Mandela Day.

Kenda Knowles said the Grade One to Seven girls made sandwiches and delivered them to the local soup kitchen.

Overall, the school was abuzz with activity, with the spirit of giving back to the local community present.
