Morning soup kitchen by NSOA

The children were dressed colourfully in their South African flag colours and they waved their SA flags happily.

Giving back in Edenvale was in the air on Mandela Day.

Nursery School of the Arts (NSOA) spent their time handing out soup to people walking to work on 7th Avenue.

NSOA is a nursery school founded in 2012 by Renata Stefani, Clara Silvaggi and Stefania Mommsen.

Employees of Cape Precious Metals MS Ncwenya, Odwa Fono, Shane Van Biljon, Ivan Weilbach and Tom Altavilla support Nursery School of the Arts’ soup kitchen in Mandela Day T-shirts.

Owners of NSOA handed out soup and cupcakes while the children shouted “Happy Mandela Day” cheerfully.

The children were dressed brightly in their South African flag colours and they waved their SA flags happily.

Parent and Edenvale CPF representative Nicole Erasmus supported the cause as they were tasked to invite passers-by to the kitchen table.

“The last time we did the soup kitchen, the weather was much worse,” said Stefania Mommsen, one of the owners of NSOA.

The nursery school believes in teaching children the gift of giving and helping others who are less fortunate.
