Doors re-open at the Bedfordview Licensing Department

The Bedfordview Licensing Department and rates hall has re-opened after burglary.

The Bedfordview Licensing Centre and rates hall is now open after being closed due to a break-in on July 14.

The centre was closed that same day. Themba Gadebe, City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) spokesperson, said the preliminary investigation revealed that intruders had gained entry through the roof and stolen a large amount of money after forcefully opening two cash drop-off safes.

“The eNatis computer box and a plasma TV screen were also stolen, while the eNatis server was damaged. This led to the suspension of most services at these offices,” said Gadebe.
He said anyone with information that can lead to the successful arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators may report it to the police or call 08600 10111.
