Girls’ home receive warmth from local business for Mandela Day

Albert Huang said the home is doing amazing work and that is one of the reasons they chose to donate to them this year.

The spirit of Mandela Day started early at Huang Attorneys Inc based in Kensington as they visited Strathyre Girls’ Home to donate blankets on July 12.

The company donated 50 blankets to the girls’ home.

Albert Huang said the home is doing amazing work and that is one of the reasons they chose to donate to them this year.

“We have been doing the annual winter donation for the past 10 years, selecting a different organisation each year in the Kensington community. This year we felt the girls’ home deserved the donation,” said Huang.

He said they were even happier because they were able to support two homes in area this year.

“The blankets we donated were purchased from the Johannesburg Children’s Home. The blankets are handmade by the children from the Johannesburg Children’s Home.

“We felt that this year purchasing from charity to give to charity was the right thing to do,” said Huang.

The day was not only about donating blankets to the girls, but also to offer motivation and inspiration to the girls to become lawyers.

“It was interesting to chat to the girls and listen to some of the question about the profession. We hope to have sparked the embers of a new generation of legal practitioners from this bright group of girls,” said Huang.
