“As concerned residents, we are asking our neighbours and fellow community members to come and hear our ideas on how we can work together to reduce crime in Malvern,” said interim chairperson of the sector forum, Mike Spadino.

“We have some initiatives we want to get started and we need more volunteers to help us put weight behind our concerns so that we can assist the police in dealing with the issues relevant in our area.”

He said the aim of the meeting is to mobilise a community-wide effort towards building a safer and cleaner Malvern.

“Businesses and residents are being targeted by rampant crime in the area. It is a concern for all living and working in Malvern. Information about the upcoming initiatives will be highlighted, including the neighbourhood watch initiatives and WhatsApp street groups, as well as how to work with the police.

“There will also be a call for community leaders to be nominated to help drive the group.

“Following this information meeting, we will hold our annual general meeting to elect the new executive committee,” said Spadino.
