Lakeside and River Logde nurses team building

Laurentia is a member of the Lombardy East Bowling Club, so she asked the nurses if they would like to learn how to play bowls.

Rand Aid staff nurses were recently entertained for their team building activity at the Lombardy East Bowling Club.

Each wing of the Ron Smith Care Centre was challenged to plan and implement a team building activity.

Laurentia Jooste, a staff nurse on River Lodge 3 in the special dementia wing, rose to the challenge and started the planning with care worker colleagues.

Sister Tando Ncube and some of her staff from Lakeside wing were also invited to join in.

Fanie Meyeridricks, the owner, and Charlene Jefferies, the manager of the bowling club, welcomed the nurses with five other club members.

Around 15 rounds were played and the coaches were delighted at how quickly the Rand Aid team caught on.

Auxiliary nurse Evelyn Shilubane said it was wonderful to be able to learn the sport.

At the end of the day, Laurentia, Portia and Tony formed the winning team.
