Reddam to beat lasts year’s Mandela Day record

Reddam House currently supports Lambano Sanctuary, Elandsvallei Old Age home, Iphutheng Primary school, as well as Cansa, Sadag and the SPCA.

Reddam House Bedfordview will again partner with Community Hours SA and Reddam House Helderfontein and Reddam House Waterfall to beat last year’s Mandela Day sandwich collection record.

Bregita Basterfield, head of social leadership at Reddam House Bedfordview said last year Reddam staff and learners made over 3 000 sandwiches which they delivered to UJ.

She said that the sandwiches were repackaged and a Mandela portrait was fashioned and then distributed to the needy.

“Although we will celebrate Mandela Day in an extraordinary way, Reddam House Bedfordview believes in making every day a Mandela Day. Our core values and vision of ‘We shall give back’ includes inspiring young people to see the needs of the community and environment and help out wherever possible,” said Bregita.
