Kensington robbery suspects caught in Norwood after shoot-out with police

The robbery was caught on CCTV footage.

Two of three robbery suspects were apprehended after a robbery in Kensington yesterday morning.

CCTV footage of the incident showed a white VW Polo stop behind the woman who had stopped in a driveway in Kensington.

Two men exited the Polo and approached the woman. It was reported that they took cash and jewellery.

Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Capt Johan Jordaan said a look-out was circulated for the suspect’s vehicle which was later spotted in Norwood.

A shoot-out between the police and suspects ensued and two of the three suspects were wounded and arrested.

The third suspect fled. The suspects were transported to hospital.

The vehicle they were traveling in, had been hijacked in Sandton.

Police also found an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and the property of the Kensington woman.
