Hart calls for patience as project unfolds

Community members have been urged to remain patient and understanding while a section of stormwater servitude is rehabilitated in Isandovale.

Ward 18 Clr Heather Hart said the project will see the installation of gabions and other infrastructure along an 80m section to the north of Pyramid and Baker roads.

She said it if forms part of the ward’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and will be completed by the Department of Roads and Stormwater.

“Unfortunately, this will lead to dust and noise disturbances which the contractor will try to keep to a minimum,” said Hart.

She said although the project may cause an inconvenience to some it is being done to prevent further erosion of the stormwater channel’s banks.

Working hours of the team are 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, but occasional work may occur on Saturdays in the event of delays.

The project is estimated to be completed by the end of June this year.

Hart said there will be security at the site camp at all times and a community liaison officer at the site office during office hours.
