Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Capt Johan Jordaan said five men, who acted suspiciously, between the ages of 26 and 32, were stopped and arrested by the police.

Police conduct a search on the suspicious red VW Polo.

They were found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in their vehicle.

“The members of Germiston and Sedibeng Flying squads stopped a red VW Polo at the corner of First Street and Main Reef Road, Denver. Five men were in the car.

Another firearm is recovered on the floor in the front passenger seat.

“Police searched the vehicle and found four pistols with a total of 42 rounds of ammunition.

“The suspects will be charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition,” said Jordaan, who could not confirm if the vehicle was stolen.
