Cleveland SAPS probe double murder in Malvern

Cleveland SAPS urged people with information about a double murder in Malvern to come forward.

The bodies of a man and a woman were found dead near Malvern Clinic in Jules Street in the early hours of May 2. Both had sustained bullet wounds to the head.

Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Capt Johan Jordaan called this “yet another murder scene” in light of the high number of murder cases being investigated by Cleveland SAPS.

The motive for the killings is unknown.

“At about 3.30am members from the Cleveland Police Station attended the scene at the corner of 27th and Jules streets. The 38-year-old man appeared to have one bullet wound to his forehead and another to his abdomen. The 40-year-old woman had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head,” said Jordaan.

“Both victims were certified dead by paramedics. No witnesses have come forward at this stage. The case will be investigated by the Gauteng Provincial Investigation Unit in Parktown.”
