Police investigate possible murder-suicide in Malvern

Clevelands SAPS investigates murder-suicide after shooting at Malvern property.

A man and a woman were found dead at a house in Jules Street in Malvern on April 22 in what Cleveland SAPS are treating as a murder-suicide.

Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Capt Johan Jordaan said police arrived at the house and found the body of a 30-year-old man in a pool of blood.

A 35-year-old woman was found next to him and was bleeding from several gunshot wounds sustained to the lower and upper body.

“She was later identified as the deceased man’s mistress and pronounced dead at hospital.

“It is understood the woman was pregnant with the man’s child. An argument ensued and this led to the shooting. We believe the motive was a love triangle gone wrong,” said Jordaan.

“The man was found with a gunshot wound to his head. The woman had two gunshot wounds and was taken to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. She died on arrival,” said Jordaan.

Police opened an inquest docket.
