The Mamba Security’s Red Bin Brigade hosted the annual Edenvale Mini Oscars at Edenglen High School on March 9.
The event was the 13th edition and R15 500 was raised for the Red Bin Brigade which supports local charities.
The audience mainly consisted of supportive parents who donated non-perishable foods as they entered the venue.
“The little tots who went on stage blew us away with their talented dance moves and singing,” said Sharon van der Merwe, events coordinator of Mamba Group.
Each child went home with a Mini Oscars T-shirt and a gift. Oscar winners were presented with a Mini Oscar medal and certificate.
“We thank all the schools that participated in this year’s Oscars. Without them, this would not be possible.”
Special appreciation was given to Bill Parson and Miss Edenvale 2019 Kayla Veretnik for being MCs and for adding extra sparkle to the event.
Miss Johannesburg 2018 Shelby Moura assisted with awarding the little stars with their Oscars.
The award winners were Ava Arde from Over the Moon (best actress), Quinn Anderson from Bugs & Beetles (best actor), Academy Minds (best dancing), Bugs & Beetles (best production), Happy Kids & Trixi Kids (best costume), Marvel Us Kids (best singing) and Petra Christian Pre-School (best scenery).
