Edenglen High upholds tradition

Upholding tradition, the Grade Eights lined up to ring the school bell and had their hand shaken by the principal.

Every year Edenglen High School has a special induction for the new Grade Eights where they officially become ‘Edenglenians’.

The induction was held on February 6, in the school hall, and saw parents and staff attend.

Head of the grade Gerhard Dempsey addressed the learners while principal Trevor Weinerlein encouraged the learners to succeed.

A Grade Eight learner from Edenglen High School rings the school bell during his Grade Eight induction as per tradition.

Upholding tradition, the Grade Eights lined up to ring the school bell and had their hand shaken by the principal.

He took every learner’s hand, making them officially part of the school.

The ringing of the bell is symbolic as the same bell is rung when the learners finish matric and leave the school.
