New Grade Seven leaders for Assumption Convent

Leadership programme to develop girls on all levels and ensure they become responsible members of the community.

Assumption Convent School recently appointed its new Grade Seven leaders to lead the primary school through the 2019 academic year as part of the school’s Leadership Development Programme.

The purpose of the programme is to guide girls in a purposeful way so that they become independent and responsible members of the community.

It further aims to encourage girls to focus on achieving their personal best in as many aspects of school life as possible and builds them up as leaders on all levels.

“At our school it is every Grade Seven girl’s responsibility to be a good role model by setting a good example, by being positive, by inspiring each other and the younger girls to be fully alive in their approach to their school day,” said head of department of intermediate phase at the school, Chantal van Wyk.

“The programme develops leadership values and skills and requires various degrees of commitment. The girls are required to set personal goals in academics, sports and cultural activities. They also commit themselves to a number of school duties and to supporting the school’s identified service projects.”
