Better Bedfordview clean up nature reserve

The community clean-up had a number of Bedfordview residents present along with Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys.

Better Bedfordview teamed up on February 9 to clean up the Bill Stewart Nature Reserve in Bedfordview.

The community clean-up had a number of Bedfordview residents present along with Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys.

Humphreys said that RAG and Better Bedfordview member Mark Morris were the coordinators of the community-led event.

The learners enjoy the day cleaning up their community.

Humphreys said there was great support from the community.

Reddam House, Saheti School and St Andrew’s School for Girls learners all volunteered to serve their community hours.

She said that the learners all did a phenomenal job.

The learners join Better Bedfordview in the clean-up as part of their community hours.

“The Better Bedfordview SteerCo would like to thank the Primrose CPF members, Quinton Birch and Tracey Enslin, for facilitating access to the reserve; RAG, Bedfordview CPF Patrollers, SAPPS Security and Cortac for conducting the security sweep beforehand and Medi Response Ambulance for being there on standby.

“Thanks to Nick Rogerson from Quality Tube Services for arranging the refuse removal,” said Humphreys.
