Little Eden benefits from Garden of Lights

“The Garden of Lights is our way of bringing back the days when mom and dad would bundle the whole family into the car to go and see the Christmas lights in town.”

Emperors Palace has wrapped up yet another successful edition of its annual Garden of Lights, raising R1.4-million.

The money was raised from ticket sales for the 2018/2019 event.

R400 000 was donated to the Reach for a Dream foundation and R350 000 each was donated to the Peermont Childrensand Education Trusts.

In celebration of the resort’s 20th birthday, R10 000 was donated to 20 charities nominated by 20 Emperors Palace employees.

One of the charities nominated was Edenvale’s Little Eden.

General manager for Emperors Palace, Clive Tavener, said over 100 000 community members visited the garden.

The recent light display was the 11th hosted by Emperors Palace.

It was held to spread merriment and festive cheer.

Additionally, community members could enjoy interacting with colourful characters, funfair rides and delicious food.

“The Garden of Lights is our way of bringing back the days when mom and dad would bundle the whole family into the car to go and see the Christmas lights in town,” said Clive.

“Every year, we get to see the delighted smiles on the faces of children and parents alike, as they walk into the gardens and experience the incredible light displays.”
