Baby on board in theft of cellphone

“I want nearby businesses to be aware of these suspects and the vehicle in question,” said Faucitt.

A woman with a baby and two male accomplices snatched a cellphone off a table at RégimA Zone Wellness Centre on Van Buuren Road in Bedfordview on February 2018.

Jacqui Faucitt, CEO of RégimA said that suspects entered the premises posing as customers at 3.30pm.

“They entered on the pretence to make an appointment for the woman to have her nails done.

“One male stayed in the vehicle, a silver Opel Corsa Utility, whilst the other male and woman with the baby came to the top entrance of the buildings,” said Faucitt.

Faucitt said that the male suspect distracted the owner by asking him questions about the business, as the female suspect with the baby then nabbed his cellular phone.

“I want nearby businesses to be aware of these suspects and the vehicle in question.

“Let us try and minimise crime wherever possible in the area,” said Faucitt.

Resident Action Group (RAG) general manager said that the vehicle has been seen before in the area.

He said that RAG reaction officers are on alert for the vehicle.

Faucitt said she will be opening a criminal case at Bedfordview SAPS.
