Criminals break into security company

Jeppe SAPS has launched a manhunt for suspects who broke into a security company and stole 20 firearms.

According to Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Captain Richard Munyayi the owner of the security company locked the building on February 6 at about 1pm.

“It is believed he forgot the safe keys inside a drawer in the office. The 64-year-old owner arrived at his offices the following day at 9am and found the safe wide open. He discovered the ceiling had been damaged,” explained Munyayi.

“The suspects gained entry through the roof and searched the offices where they found the key of the safe and opened it.”

“It is unknown how many suspects were involved as they destroyed a CCTV camera before they opened the safe. A case of business breaking and theft has been opened,” said Munyayi.
