Bailey missing since January 24

His daughters love and miss him.

Well-known Kensington resident Graham Bailey has been missing since January 24.

According to the family, he went missing from King Edward Street in the early hours of January 24, after he had delivered a package in Juno Street.

“The security officer said he saw him and that he was not carrying anything with him,” said Jane O’Connor.

“He left everything his medication, cellphone, bank card and ID. We don’t even know if he had any cash on him,” said O’Connor.

She said the family is worried as Bailey is not well.

“We have contacted all his friends. We have searched parks in the area and spoken to drivers at Darras Centre and no one has seen him,” she said.

She said Bailey loved hiking and he often went to Suikerbos for hikes.

“We’ve spoken to people in the Suikerbos area and they have not seen him. Now we are thinking he might have gone to Durban and we ask for people to be on a lookout,” said O’Connor.

“His health is not good. He cannot walk long distances because of the pain in his leg, and since he did not take his medication he will not find it hard to walk. We don’t know his reason for leaving, but we want him to come back home. His daughters miss and love him,” said O’Connor.

“If he sees the article or someone knows where he could be please contact us,” she pleaded.

Bailey was involved in the Cathedral Justice and Peace Group.

He moved to the Kensington area in 1982 and got involved in the Detainees Parent Support Committee (DPSC).

He was very passionate about community work.

“Bailey together with the late Gerald Heine and other community members were very instrumental in starting the Kensington Spring Fair. He worked at Wits University from 1981 to 2016,” said O’Connor.
