No fatalities in multi-vehicle collision

One person was injured when a multi-vehicle collision occurred at the N12 Edenvale Road off-ramp.

The collision occurred on January 24 and included two trucks and several light motor vehicles.

Acting spokesperson for the City of Ekurhuleni’s Department of Emergency Management Services Vincent Khoza said the injured person was taken to Life Roseacres Hospital.

Some of the vehicles at the scene of multi-vehicle collision which occurred on the N12 Edenvale Road off-ramp on January 24.

“The person was in a stable condition,” said Khoza.

“It is unknown how the collision occurred at this stage. It is believed the brakes on one of the trucks failed. The EMPD will investigate the matter further,” said Khoza.

Khoza urged motorist to travel safely and make use of the following advice:

• To be alert and vigilant while driving.

• To focus on driving and not be distracted by cellphones or other devices.

• To ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition.
