Learners ring in start of school journey

The Sacred Heart tradition is a wonderful moment for parents and the learners as each Grade Ones ring the bell outside the school’s chapel.

Sacred Heart College had its Ring the Bell ceremony on January 24 to mark the Grade One learners’ beginning of their school journey.

Father and daughter moment: Wayne Purchase and his daughter Lilian-Rose Purchase ring the bell together to mark the beginning of her school journey.

They will again ring the bell when they are in matric, to mark the end of the school journey.

The bell and the college chapel have a rich history and are of particular significance to the college, which is one of five Marist schools in the country.
