Balwin charity walk

A whopping R130 000 was handed to Rand Aid’s Thembalami Care Centre.

Balwin Properties hosted charity walks across a few provinces, raising a total of R2 160 000.

The Balwin Foundation NPC hosted their annual Charity Hat Walk at Jeppe Quondam Sports Complex in December.

Various charities were given much-needed donations.

Balwin staff, community members, various organisations and charities supported by Balwin Properties took part in the walk.

Theresa Vitale, the foundation manager of Balwin, said Balwin Properties Ltd raise funds through donations from their suppliers and funding from the Balwin Foundation NPC.

“The Johannesburg centre raised R1 420 000, KwaZulu-Natal raised R260 000 and Cape Town raised R480 000,” said Theresa.

Charity organisations that received donations after the JHB walk were:

• Theo Jackson Fund – R300 000.

• Boston Terrier Rescue – R130 000.

• Endangered Wildlife Trust Highveld Horse Care Kids Haven – R130 000.

• Little Eden Society – R130 000.

• Thembalani Care Centre – R130 000.

• Stanza Bopape Community Centre – R130 000.

• TLC Children’s Home – R130 000.

• Jeppe DPI – R60 000.

• Bedford Community Policing Forum – R10 000.

• Jeppe Pipe Band – R10 000.
