Community dances the morning away
“It’s the Festive season and we believe that everyone deserves a little holiday cheer, especially the children.”
With the hopes of raising funds for Child Welfare SA – Edenvale community members came together to dance the morning away.
On December 8, IDance hosted a fund-raising initiative at the Edenvale Indoor Soccer Arena which raised R6 500 for the welfare.
“The fundraiser was well supported and people who attended had fun,” said vice-chairperson of the welfare Nicki van der Walt.
Committee member of Edenvale’s Child Welfare, Candice Jones, thanked the management at the soccer arena for providing the facility free of charge.
Founder and CEO of IDance, Natasha Lewis, said the group decided to host the event to give back to the welfare.
“IDance has always wanted to host an event like this,” said Natasha.
She said over the years the group has done smaller fund-raisers for different charities but decided to go bigger with the child welfare event.
“It’s the festive season and we believe that everyone deserves a little holiday cheer, especially the children,” said Natasha.
Looking to the future, Natasha said IDance would like to host similar events.
“Our hope is to go bigger and better next time and to raise a ton of money for the child welfare.”
