Edenvale Fahrenheit Seafood Pub and Grill was a buzz of excitement when senior citizens recently attended the sixth annual

Senior Citizens Lunch.

Over 100 venerable community members were treated to a Christmas celebration at the event organised by Residents who Care.

Lesley Thomas, an organiser, said the elderly in communities are sometimes forgotten about.

“This event is very special to us because we are able to arrange this luncheon and show them that people do care.”

Invitees, some accompanied by their caregivers, were dressed to the nines and wearing big smiles, arrived to enjoy a festive afternoon.

Those who attended were from various retirement homes in the area and enjoyed a three-course meal.

Tables were adorned with sparkles, mini trees and lovely gift bags filled courtesy of local businesses such as De Bakery, Edenvale City Improvement District, ER24, Sunshine in a Bag, Pick n Pay Terrace Road and SA Greetings.
