Christmas lights brighten up Edenvale

"Our idea is to bring Christmas cheer to the community,"

With Christmas around the corner Edenvale is starting to brighten up with bright colours and flashing lights.

The lights, which bring a smile to many community members’ faces, are often associated with memories of yesteryear and childhood fun.

One Edenvale family has decided to brighten up community members spirits by putting up Christmas lights on their property.

The lights were switched on, on November 17, at 16 Fourth Avenue.

Kerry Cuff, owner of the property, said he and his family have been switching on the Christmas lights annually for the past 10 years.

“We used to live in a garden cottage and used to have the lights there but when we bought our own property we decided to go bigger,” said Kerry.

Community members Sharon Pressova and Mark Errington enjoy the Christmas lights together on November 17.

Doreen, Kerry’s wife, said she got the idea to start having annual Christmas lights after she went on a trip to America.

“Our idea is to bring Christmas cheer to the community,” said Doreen.

Mother and son, Debra and Sebastian Schmaus take a break to enjoy the colourful lights.

In addition to having the annual lights the Cuff’s invite family and friends for a dinner and to enjoy themselves.

Doreen encouraged community members to drive past the property and enjoy the sight of the lights brightening up Edenvale.
