Time is running out to support children

Readers can phone the NEWS and we will provide you with a child’s name, age and gender to ensure you buy a special gift for him or her.

The NEWS is urgently calling on all its readers to support our Christmas gift collection for the children of Pinocchio Educare Centre.

The centre currently has 54 children and there are still several children in need of sponsors.

“We realise that money is tight but we plead with our readers to support us in ensuring that we are able to host this event for the 10th consecutive year. Local businesses that have supported this venture since the first party, have already pledged their support. Karaglen SuperSpar, De Backery and 7 Eagles Spur will again join the NEWS this year in making Christmas special for the children,” said the NEWS’ editor, Marietta Lombard.

“We now need the last few children to be ‘adopted’ and then we will be ready to host a joyful Christmas party for the children,” said Lombard.
