Sebenza SAPS launches safety campaign

Sebenza SAPS, EMPD and Ekurhuleni North SAPS cluster held a joint operation on Centenary Street in Sebenza precinct on October 31.

“The purpose of the operation is to reduce crime. We stopped and searched vehicles looking for illegal firearms and stolen property,” she said.

Officials searched more than 200 cars.

“We also issued 30 traffic fines and arrested two illegal immigrants,” she said.

Tsotsotso pleaded with motorists to be patient on the road.

“Most of our roads will be congested with traffic because of such operations,” she said.
