Man arrested for fraud at Edenvale Police Station

“After further investigation and questioning the man told the officers he was not the lawful owner of the ID book.”

A man was recently arrested on charges of fraud after he visited Edenvale Police Station to provide an affidavit.

Edenvale Police Station spokesperson Capt Jean Olckers said the man went to the station on October 21 when officers on duty in the charge office noticed that the man’s ID book did not look authentic.

“After further investigation and questioning the man told the officers he was not the lawful owner of the ID book,” said Olckers.

“He said the ID belonged to someone else and he had fraudulently altered it for his own use.”

The man was detained for fraud and will appear in court soon.
