Walk or ride with pride at Inyoni Creek

The walk, which is open to all and sundry, is suitable for the whole family.

Come walk with pride or take a ride at Inyoni Creek’s Summer Fest on November 3.

The Rand Aid Retirement Village in Lyndhurst has a bumper fun day planned and one of the highlights will be a fun walk through the beautiful, rambling village which has a picturesque dam and prolific birdlife.

The walk, which is open to all and sundry, is suitable for the whole family.

It offers the option of a 700m wheelchair and pram route, as well as a 2.5km route.

The R25 entry fee which is payable on the day includes a bottle of water for all participants and chocolate medals for the first 60 finishers.

Participants need not pre-enter, just be there in time to do so before the walk gets underway at 10am.

Wheelchair and mobility scooter participants will not pay an entrance fee.

The organisers challenge people with mobility issues to round up some friends and enter as a group.

Ride with pride, either in a mobility scooter, self-propelled wheelchair or one that is pushed, along a carefully plotted route.

Groups are encouraged to have their photos taken before or after the event and these will be posted to Rand Aid’s Facebook page.

Apart from the walk, there will be a great selection of unique, hand-made goodies for sale many of which will be Christmas-themed; performances by pipe bands and games for the little ones.

Adding extra excitement will be a number of raffles with prizes ranging from liquor and spice hampers to a doll’s pram with a baby doll and a getaway at the Bakubung Bush Lodge in the Pilanesberg.
