Joburg East SAPS Cluster arrested 74 suspects between October 12 to 14.
The suspects were arrested for various crimes including murder, theft and rape.
The cluster is made up of seven police stations, namely Cleveland, Jeppe, Hillbrow, Rosebank, Parkview, Norwood and Yeoville.
The arrests included:
• One for murder.
• Seven for shoplifting.
• Four for armed robbery.
• One for intimidation.
• One for rape.
“The suspects have appeared in different courts. Some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Capt Johan Jordaan.
