Mkhabela launches his own book

“The book empowered me when I was weak. It also helped me to become independent. After reading it, I started writing my own book.”

Ntsakisi Floyd Mkhabele of Malvern launched his first book, Escape from rain Shadow, recently.

“It is a self-help book that contains motivations and knowledge about life. It works as private therapy to those who don’t like to talk about their problems,” he said.

Mkhabele said he likes helping people.

“I try to help as many people as possible. I like to help people who are facing life challenges, but I find it hard when people don’t open up about their problems.

“I decided to write the book as I believe that it will reach a lot of people, especially those who don’t like discussing their problems with others to find healing. This is a weapon they can use to tackle life challenges,” he said.

Born in Giyani, Limpopo, Mkhabele said his dream was to become an actor and a motivational speaker.

“I did not follow my passion for acting after matriculating because of challenges. I completed my matric in 2011 and moved to Johannesburg to further my studies, but things did not work out for me.

“I then enrolled for a diploma in motor mechanics at Future Mechanics in Doornfontein in 2014, but could not complete.

“I am now studying economics and management science through the University of South Africa while working as a cashier at a garage in Denver. During my spare time, I write poetry and I give motivational talks at schools and churches around Malvern,” he said.

Growing up, Mkhabele said he read motivational and biblical books.

“The book empowered me when I was weak. It also helped me to become independent. After reading it, I started writing my own book. Anyone can benefit from reading the escape from rain shadow,” he said.
