Edenvale SPCA’s Dogs Dinner Fund now open

"It is only with your generosity that we are able to look after all the animals in our care."

With the end of the year fast approaching, Edenvale SPCA launched the annual Dogs Dinner Fund, supported by the NEWS.

Donations made by residents and businesses to the SPCA will be used to care for the animals at Edenvale SPCA.

The money will be used for renovations, to treat animals, to conduct outreach programmes and general running costs of the facility.

Inspector Jade Nel thanked community members for all of their support over the years.

Last year the Dogs Dinner Fund raised a total of R139 343.

“It is only with the community’s generosity that we are able to look after all the animals in our care.”

Nel said the past year had been financially difficult.

“We are struggling to continue all the work we want to do, and care for all the animals we have in our care,” she said.

“Cruelty has definitely stepped up and we need all the help we can get to continue to fight for those who cannot speak.”
