Edenvale’s very own warrior princess

"The main focus of my campaign has been to get people to stand up for what they believe in."

Edenvale resident Jessica Inward has come a long way since she started the Miss Eagle South Africa (Mesa) pageant last year.

She was awarded the title of Warrior Princess and hopes to make it to the Gauteng finals.

“Since I started the pageant my confidence has grown,” said Jessica.

“I never thought I would be doing something like this and after seeing what I have achieved I will do anything to ensure my voice is heard.”

Jessica started the pageant to create awareness about animal welfare and it also made her more aware of other issues in society.

She hosted awareness events including an SPCA fundraiser, a charity fashion show and charity tea to raise funds for Child Welfare Tshwane.

Warrior Princess and Edenvale resident Jessica Inward hopes to be selected as a Gauteng finalist for the Miss Eagle South Africa (Mesa) Pageant.

Dawn Inward, Jessica’s mother, said while at the charity event community members were interested to learn why Jessica decided to take part in the pageant.

“The main focus of my campaign has been to get people to stand up for what they believe in.”

“I want to reach out to other people and get them to help others.”

Jessica said making it through to the finals would get her one step closer to reaching her dream.

“I have created awareness and my voice has been heard but the further I can go in the pageant the more of a difference I will make.”

Jessica said even if she does not win the title helping others will be enough of a reward for her.

The finalists from each province will be announced in early October.
