Tlhoks reflects his musical journey through new album

The album is all about thanking the Lord.

Troyeville-based gospel artist Letlhogonolo Moloi is working on his second album Re Bine, which means “we will dance”.

Moloi’s stage name is Tlhoks.

“This album is inspired by my achievements and it is about thanking the Lord who has blessed me in my work,” said Tlhoks.

He said the 13-track album is a reflection of his journey in music.

“Re Bine is a victory song that expresses the new Jerusalem where everybody will be dancing, according to Revelation 21.”

He said gospel music has been his coping mechanism when things were tough.

“It allowed me to express my happiness, even if the situation won’t allow me and it works because right now I live for gospel music,” said Tlhoks.

“I just wanted to share my happiness with the whole world hence I composed mostly praise songs for this album,” said Tlhoks.

He said he also wants this album to encourage the spirit of Ubuntu.

Troyeville-based gospel artist Letlhogonolo Moloi, known to fans as Tlhoks, has been nominated for Best Upcoming Artist in the Live Your Dream South Africa Awards.

“I want to unite people and that is why the album has songs written in different languages, including Setswana, my home language, English, Shona, Ibu, IsiZulu, Xhosa and Tsonga.

“This is also to cater for the many different people in Africa and the rest of the world,” explained Tlhoks.

He has worked with different artists from different parts of Africa on this album.

“I worked with well-known artist Prince Okwu from Nigeria. He is featured in a song called You Are Bigger in Ibu.”

He also worked with Brave Pedzai from Zimbabwe on a song called Jehovah Ndibaitsirei and Oscar Moloi who featured in a hymn song called Ke ngwana hao.

“Our fans have always wanted us to collaborate and now is the time for them to have a taste of us in one song,” shared Tlhoks.

He said people should expect healing and beautiful songs from this album.

“These songs will heal hearts because music is food for the soul,” said Tlhoks.

The album will be released on November 30 and the launch will be at Beloved Sons Ministries in Kyalami.

A single of this upcoming album was released August 1.

The Re bine single has been nominated by the Golden Art and Media Awards (Gama) for Song of the Year.

His schedule in coming months is busy as Tlhoks will perform in Bulawayo PHC, Zimbabwe, in September and October and a performance in Swaziland in November.
