“We came on a friendly basis to have a word with Adam and share SA’s beautiful weather,” said secretary of EFF’s Ekurhurleni region Sipho Watkins.
“We wanted to hear from him personally. EFF decided to act because racists do not contribute to society and need to be confronted,” said Watkins.
He said the EFF has a responsibility to confront individuals who make racial slurs.
In statements published by the media this week, it was announced that Catzavelos had been dismissed from his family business which was followed by an apology believed to have been issued by him.

“I have been thoughtless and insensitive and shown a complete lack of understanding of what the people in our nation have endured. I have watched my video and feel total shame. I don’t expect people to forgive me,” the apology statement reads.
The NEWS has not been able to confirm the apology statement was indeed issued by Catzavelos.

“It is abhorrent and we fully disassociate ourselves from the sentiments expressed. We reject racism in any form,” a statement issued by St George’s Fine Foods reads.
While at the property the NEWS called out and attempted to speak to someone at the home.
No one responded to the numerous calls and knocks on the gate.
Three business cards and a letter were left at the property as a means for Catzavelos to contact the NEWS.
The NEWS has not been contacted by Catzavelos.
