“I grew up in White City, Soweto with both my parents and siblings. We moved to Denver two years ago. I am a first child and I have no one else who can assist me financially except my parents but they can’t afford to take me to school. My parents also struggled to put me through high school but I managed to complete matric,” she said.

“I have always been passionate about science and working with people. I really want to become a nurse and make a difference in other people’s lives.

“I matriculated at Malvern High School in 2015. I passed physical science, life science, English home language, life orientation, IsiZulu additional language, computer applications technology and mathematics.

“I have been sitting at home since I completed matric hoping that my parents would be able to get funds for university but years are going by. I tried looking for a job after matric but it was difficult. I couldn’t find a job. Most of the jobs I applied for needed someone with higher qualifications.

“I once read a story about someone who pleaded for support with the help of the EXPRESS. I decided to also plead for help. I would like to study nursing at Netcare Training Academy. I would appreciate any help,” she said.

Anyone willing to help Anele Khumalo can contact her on 063 928 0995.
