Edenvale market gives back to animals in need

The market, hosted by the Tails and Whiskers Charity Shop, was hosted on Third Street in front of the store.

Community members and animal charities recently came together for the biannual Charlies Charity Market.

The market, hosted by the Tails and Whiskers Charity Shop, was hosted on Third Street in front of the store.

It gave the store’s beneficiaries, Cat Village, Happy Yappers, Animal Birth Control South Africa, Hellen White – In the Community, Brainy Birds and Boxer Rescue, the opportunity to raise funds for their charities. Sharon Blackwell from the shop said the day was busy.

Animal charity representatives and community members came together at the Tails and Whiskers Charity Shop’s biannual Charlies Charity Market. Seen here are Hellen White (Hellen White – In the Community), Corrie Nel, Yolanda Nel with her dog Anni and Anne Martin (Animal Birth Control South Africa).

“A lot of community members visited us early in the day to support our beneficiaries,” said Sharon.

She said the funds raised by the charities will be used to care for animals, cover veterinary bills and general running costs.
