After weeks of hard work, the models from House of Style Models performed well.

Kelly Winter won Miss Teen Johannesburg, Jacques Botha won Mr Teen Johannesburg and former Miss Edenvale Shelby Moura was crowned Miss Johannesburg 2018.

Jenique Botha finished as the runner-up in the 13 to 15 years old category.

The pageant was held in the Rio Ballroom at Carnival City.

Jackie Allen of House of Style Models said participants were judged on speaking and modelling skills.

She said they modelled Rio Carnival-themed costumes and evening wear.

“The event is not your average beauty pageant. It is hosted by Rolemodels Foundation in aid of the Imfundo Educare programme,” said Jackie.

“The programme focuses on educating pre-primary school-aged children in informal settlements across South Africa.”

Jackie said contestants were required to collect food, clothing and educational supplies for the programme.

In addition to collecting donations, participants sold Tekkie Tax stickers to raise funds for the foundation.
