Sebenza constable arrested for corruption granted bail

“He was arrested in connection to an Edenvale case.”

A constable from Sebenza Police Station, arrested on July 18 on charges of fraud and corruption, has been granted bail.

Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso, Sebenza SAPS spokesperson, said the constable appeared in the Edenvale Magistrate’s Court on July 19 where he was granted bail.

“He was arrested in connection to an Edenvale case,” said Tsotsotso.

Tsotsotso said she could not confirm who made the arrest.

The arrest of the Sebenza constable marks the third arrest of a police officer in the area during the month of July.

Two Edenvale SAPS constables were arrested on July 4 on charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
