International guests visit Holy Rosary

During their visit, the two schools shared their culture at a special assembly.

Holy Rosary High School recently hosted learners from Beijingshi Guozijian zhongxue (Beijing Middle School) for a cultural exchange day.

The international guests visited on July 9.

Learners from Holy Rosary High School and Beijingshi Guozijian zhongxue (Beijing Middle School) stand behind a banner which welcomed the Chinese students to Edenvale on July 9.

During their visit, the two schools shared their culture at a special assembly.

Holy Rosary treated their guests to the sounds of its high school choir, a performance by Phumelela Outreach Programme gumboot dancers and Grade Six learners dancing to Mango Groove’s Special Star.

In turn, the Beijing learners spoke about Chinese calligraphy, hosted a diablo (Chinese yo-yo) presentation, performed a martial art dance and Peking opera.

After the assembly, the visitors spent the rest of the day in class at Holy Rosary.
