Celebrate Mandela Day at Little Eden in Edenvale

During the celebrations, community members can spend time with the society's residents and give back to those in need.

Little Eden Society, based in Edenglen, Edenvale invites community members to celebrate the 100th birthday and legacy of Nelson Mandela with the society.

Today, July 18 the society is hosting special centenary celebrations at the society’s two homes.

During the celebrations, community members can spend time with the society’s residents and give back to those in need.

Nichollette Muthige, public relations and communications officer of the society, said visitors are more than welcome to bring gifts for the residents.

She said they can bring medium size sweatshirts, tracksuit pants and long shorts.

Nichollette said the clothes can’t have any zips or buttons on them.

“If community members are unable to visit, they are encouraged to donate R100,” said Nichollette.

The society will be open to visitors between 9am and 3pm today.

The society’s Edenvale home is located on the corner of Harris Road and Wagenaar Street in Edenglen.

The society’s Bapsfontein home is located at consolidated stand 115 Elvira Rota Village.
