The Johannesburg SAPS East Cluster arrested 75 suspects between June 29 to July 1.
The suspects were arrested for crimes including shoplifting, fraud and theft.
This cluster is made up of seven police stations: Cleveland, Jeppe, Hillbrow, Rosebank, Parkview, Norwood and Yeoville.
The arrests included:
• Ten for common assault.
• Three for possession of stolen properties.
• Six for shoplifting.
• Two for theft.
• Six for possession of dagga.
• Three for contravention of liquor act.
• Five for common robbery.
• Three for malicious damage to property.
• Two for fraud.
“The suspects have appeared in different courts. Some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Capt Richard Munyayi.
